I recently was able to participate in a food drive at work. They raised 415 pounds of food! Sounds like a lot, but it was actually over 100 pounds less than what they raised last year. Call to Action! If you have items to clear out of your pantry or towel closet, find a local homeless shelter, food bank, or church that takes these items and distributes them to those in need. They are most in need of canned meats, soup, and beans, cereal, healthy kids snacks, other things that are shelf stable. Homeless shelters can use hygiene items such as deodorant, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc. God called us to provide for the poor, widowed and orphaned. If you have been blessed with a surplus, pay it forward!
